La Ventana is a semi-annual journal of multidisciplinary character of the University Centre of Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of Guadalajara, corresponding to the Centre of Gender Studies.
The journal’s purpose is it to investigate the relation and the evolution of the female and male condition. It strives to identify the functions and the real agreements on any rhetoric about gender, whether the agreements are originated in the powers, the individuals or the groups.
The journal is open to receive contributions in Spanish and English from professors, academics, researchers, students and professionals of gender studies that contribute to the diffusion of proposals, analysis, reflections or experiences aiming at the expansion, the comprehension and the improvement of those studies. The process of peer review is paired: the contributions are evaluated anonymously using the “double-blind” scheme.

El eje temático de este número es El Estado, pues desde cualquier perspectiva, es innegable que, dado su poder regulatorio y creativo, el Estado tiene una apuesta mayor en la política de género, y por tanto, constituye el foco de grupos de interés y de la movilización de la política sexual. En la coyuntura del año 2024, año en el que más de cincuenta países están sosteniendo elecciones nacionales, y año en que en México es por primera vez realmente posible la investidura de una mujer como jefa de Estado, la centralidad de la cuestión de la significancia del género en y desde el Estado se hace más evidente.
El examen de la legitimidad, composición, estructura y maquinaria actual del gobierno en términos de género es, sin duda, urgente. Por ello, lanzamos en estos términos nuestra convocatoria.
